The RAY standup paddle board race fin offers exceptional tracking, stability and speed, helping you to stay upright and on course at record beating pace. This is especially helpful during longer distance paddling when fatigue creeps in – rememberer, you are not fast if you are falling off.
Thanks to proprietary foiling and a low drag profile paddlers will gain speed with increased glide between paddle stokes. When the water gets rough the Ray will really come into its own, the extra depth and increased area will help you stay upright and tracking straight. This SUP fin is highly recommended for rough water, lakes and inter-coastal areas.
The 35° rake and plan shape helps speed up buoy turns while keeping you balanced and in control.
The Ray shares much of its DNA with the smaller TIGER and is an ideal change-up fin for windy days. If you have recently moved to a narrower SUP board then the Ray can offer that extra stability you will need with the loss of board width.
The Ray is best suited for intermediate stand up paddlers with a low to medium cadence. Built in our Ultralight Pro Carbon featuring our new LiteCore technology our fins are the lightest sup race fins available while being exceptionally durable.
This table and chart illustrates what the RAY is best used for, if this matches your needs then it is an ideal choice for you.
When investing in a fin upgrade, you need to make sure you have the correct fit for your board. Unfortunately, board companies have so far not agreed on the preferred standard for fin boxes.
What makes it more confusing is that to the untrained eye, both fin box systems look almost identical. Luckily we have this area covered and the details below will ensure that you get the correct fin for your board.
Fits Starboard, JP-Australia, Fanatic, Mistral, RRD and most production brands with an origin in windsurfing. This is the same fin box that’s found on many windsurfing boards and is wider and deeper, with the pin set further from the deck of the board. The base is 9.2mm thick.
This is the same box that is standard in many surf longboards. It is a narrower and shallower base as used by SIC, Infinity, 404, Naish, Flying Fish and many more. Narrower and shallower than the US base, these boxes have the pin set closer to the deck of the board. The base is 9.0mm thick.
Our new, hand-laminated, ultralight carbon construction takes quality, light weight and durability to new levels. While the previous RTM molded fins were great, we still saw room for improvement and incorporated those areas into the new fins.
The new layup featuring our carbon infused LiteCore technology enables us to control weight, strength and flex more precisely than before. The result is a paddleboard race fin which is race now approximately 25 grams lighter while being more resilient to damage.
