The Lava incorporates our Scooped Dihedral Blade Technology (SDBT) which holds water securely through the power phase, eliminating lateral movement and delivering force in a smooth, efficient manner. The extension of the dihedral ridge towards the toe of the blade keeps it stable and delivering power, even if you don’t get a full paddle stroke. The concave design of the two sides of the dihedral increases power output. The Lava blade is predictable, powerful, and efficient, encouraging the use of smaller sizes.

Our adjustable paddles come in different length ranges to suit a variety of paddlers and activities. The Lava paddle is available in three adjustable length options, each offering 30cm (12 inches) of adjustment.
- Large (185–215cm / 73–85″)
- Medium (175–205cm / 69–81″)
- Small (165–195cm / 65–77″)
This ensures you can select the ideal combination for your height, paddling style, and preferred activity.
Choosing between the options of 26 or 29 on the Medium is personal preference. Smaller paddlers and/or those with smaller hands tend to enjoy the thinner 26mm grip while bigger paddlers and/or those with bigger hands tend to prefer the 29mm shaft. The 26mm shaft is also a little more flexible.
- Large is only available with the 29mm shaft.
- Medium blade is available in 26mm and 29mm shaft options.
- Small is only available as a 26mm option.
To ensure the longevity of your paddle:
- Rinse it with fresh water after each use, especially after exposure to saltwater.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when not in use.

Yes, our Lava 1-piece paddles are assembled with hot glue, this means that you can easily shorten as required.
The Lava paddle does not come with a bag, but the 3-piece version includes a high-quality bag for convenient transport and storage. Paddle bags are also available for purchase separately to protect your investment and increase the life of your paddle.
All Black Project paddles have carbon reinforced edges and can withstand a good amount of abuse. The use of protective tape is not needed for general consumer use.

For your peace of mine, we have a standard 1-year warranty to cover faulty manufacturing. Thanks to hot glue assembly it is possible to replace any damaged parts.
