POWER SCOOP
TECHNOLOGY (PST)
The Hydro TempoX features a single moderate scoop design with dihedral shaped edges. This design increases stroke power and delivers forward thrust in a smooth and controlled manner. PST is designed to work in harmony with Advanced Flow Technology (AFT).
ADVANCED FLOW TECHNOLOGY (AFT)
The proprietary Advanced Flow Technology (AFT) is designed to significantly increase paddle efficiency. By reducing fluid turbulence around the blade, unwanted lateral blade movements are eliminated. This increased efficiency leads to a smoother paddle stroke, reduced fatigue, and faster speeds. AFT is designed to work in harmony with our Power Scoop Technology (PST).
QUEST CARBON SHAFT
The Quest carbon shafts feature 24T pre-preg carbon laminates for reduced weight, excellent flex characteristics, and increased durability. The natural carbon-textured matte finish ensures a secure and relaxed grip. With a range of stiffnesses and both 29mm and 26mm diameter options there’s a perfect fit for every enthusiast across the entire spectrum of paddlers. POWERGRIP
HANDLE
The PowerGrip has been optimized for maximum power, increased efficiency, and long-lasting comfort while paddling hard. Developed in collaboration with world champion Arthur Arutkin and Maui waterman Bernd Roediger, the wider and flatter back creates a secure feel that remains comfortable during longer races and workouts. The Hydro TempoX comes with our red, 100% carbon PowerGrip. Like all our handles, the PowerGrip is hollow to help eliminate any excess weight.

The Hydro TempoX has a moderate 10° blade angle which promotes an easier catch, with a smooth paddle entry, slightly more forgiving feel, and increased comfort especially over longer distances.

SPECIFICATIONS AND SIZING
We don’t think you need to be an expert paddler to enjoy the benefits of a custom paddle. In fact, it’s why we offer the Hydro TempoX in four blade options and both 26 (slim) and 29mm (regular/standard) to best suit your specific paddling needs. For adjustable paddles the 30cm (12″) range is tuned to match the blade size. Choosing the right paddle might seem daunting at first, but don’t worry, we made it easy to identify which is the best option for your optimal paddling experience.
* The adjustment range is purposely kept shorter than some others with a maximum adjustment of 30cm/12″, this enhances the performance across the entire range of adjustment.
SUP PADDLE LENGTH GUIDE FOR FITNESS, TOURING & RECREATIONAL RACING
This table is not designed to be a one-size-fits-all solution, and recommended lengths may vary by approximately +/- 1″ (2.5cm) depending on the paddler’s preference. For example, if you are using a thicker iSUP then a slightly longer paddle can help, conversely, if you are using a board with a recessed deck (or dugout) then a shorter paddle is more comfortable. It’s easier to cut your 1-piece paddle down than to glue on more shaft (especially with our hot glue construction), so we err on the side of caution by recommending the longer end of the spectrum. If you are using an adjustable paddle then you have the freedom to experiment and find what works best for you.

Yes, our 1-piece Hydro TempoX paddle handles are secured with hot glue, this means that you can easily shorten your 1-piece paddle – our YouTube channel has a video which explains the process in detail. Our adjustable paddles have 30cm of adjustment built in with each size optimized for the typical user heights however, if you would like to shorten further, it is possible to remove the clamp, cut down the shaft and replace the clamp, please contact us for support.
We built the Hydro Tempo-X SUP paddle to be easy to use and remain comfortable over long distances. By slightly increasing the flex of the shaft we can greatly reduce fatigue and paddling injury. To further enhance this, the XL and Large blade sizes come with our Reflex100 shaft, which is a little stiffer and ideal for taller and heavier paddlers, while the Medium and Small blades are fitted with our Reflex90 shaft which is a little more flexible and ideal for smaller paddlers.
By far the most popular size of blade is the Medium which is 78.4 in² / 506cm². Be sure to refer to sizing table to select the right size for your weight.
The Medium blade is available in either the Slim (26.5mm / RDS) or Regular (29mm / SDS) shaft variation. The Small is only available as a Slim (26.5mm / RDS) option. The Large and XL are only available with the Regular (29mm / SDS) shaft. Choosing between the options of Slim or Standard on the Medium is personal preference. Smaller paddlers and/or those with smaller hands tend to enjoy the thinner 26.5mm grip while bigger paddlers and/or those with bigger hands tend to prefer the Standard 29mm shaft.
When ordering via our website the Surge paddle is supplied complete with our Paddle Bag, it is not a free bag and some US and international retailers do sell the paddle without the bag at an adjusted price. We strongly recommend that you protect your investment with a quality padded bag, ideally a Black Project one.

For your peace of mine, we have a standard 1-year warranty to cover faulty manufacturing. Thanks to hot glue assembly it is possible to replace any damaged parts.
